Q:How long will a generator run on a full tank of gas?
A: The run time under laboratory conditions with full tank of gas is 4.5 hours at half load. 8.3 hours at 25% load. However, it should be noted that the actual running time is determined by the actual load power of the appliance and may deviate from our measured value.
Q: How long can a generator run continuously?
A: The continuous method of endurance of our generators at full load is rated for 500 hours of continuous use and/or until the fuel is depleted. The factory requires a minimum rated endurance of 500 hours operating at ambient temperatures, however our generators can achieve operating times which exceed 1000 hours in total.
Q: Can the MXR3500 be used in areas of high altitude? Will it affect its power output generation
A: The MXR3500 generator is suitable for use in areas up to 5,000ft altitude. Altitudes beyond 5000ft will affect the MXR3500's performance in terms of stability, startability and power output. Installing a high altitude kit can remedy the above issues, but cannot make sure that the power rating of the MXR3500 is as advertised.
Q: How do I calculate what size of the generator that I need?
A: Prepare a list of all electrical items that need to be powered and determine the starting wattage (energy needed to turn it on) and running wattage (energy needed to operate it) for each. These figures are typically inscribed somewhere on the equipment itself, as well as recorded in the owner's manual. Calculate the total power requirement by adding up the kW or KVA figures and then seeing which generator best suits your needs.
Q: What do I do if the generator fails to start?
A: If the generator fails to start, it is important to check that the correct gasoline and oil is used. It is recommended to add at least 450ml of SAE-10W30 engine oil to ensure efficient operation.
Q:Will the generator work in the rain/snow
A: Never use the generator in a location that is wet or damp. Never expose the generator to rain, snow, water spray, or standing water while in use. Moisture or ice can cause a short circuit which may cause the generator to malfunction.
